Trains At Canal Street In Downtown Chicago July 14, 2011

Sorry about how long this video is. I did not want to upload this video in parts. The next thing I did after watching trains at the Amtrak yard near 21st Street was go to canal Street. This is one place I have always wanted to railfan my entire life. I finally got the chance to do so. Ross (94amtrak), his dad, & I headed over to watch trains here. I was more then pleased with the number of Metra,Amtrak, & CTA “L” trains I caught. We were only here for about an hour & half & this is how much I saw! Ross & I liked the location so much we went to canal street a few hours before I had to leave on the eastbound Amtrak Capital Limited on July 18th. That will be a video I will upload in the future I strongly recomend Canal Street to any railfan who visits Chicago. In this video you will also see Metra F40PH #163 which I caught at Canal Street at 11:57 in the video. The next video from my Chicago area trip will be of the Metra Electric. What is the nearest cross street to that? I am gonna be in Chicago in less then a month, taking Amtrak from grand rapids, and hoping to get some great video from that area.

I was referring to Man of Steel movie. Smallville and Metrpolis are located in Kansas for this movie. This vid isn’t for Man of Steel. I was able to verify this set is for the Playboy Club, not Man of Steel. I’m sure it was just an honest mistake, too. There’s a few diff feature productions in Chicago going on.

@MonkeySuperFan actually only on the series Smallville, was Metropolis located in Kansas. I believe in the comics Metropolis is more like in New York. But, I think it’s kind of interesting that they are filming in Illinois, because there is actually a Metropolis, IL and they have a Superman museum there. I’d also be interested to know what they will shoot in Vancouver, since Smallville shot there.

I don’t think is authentic for the filming of Man of Steel in Chicago. Twentieth Century Fox isn’t behind this film, WB and Legendary are. Metropolis is located in Kansas, not Illinois. The flming isn’t taking place at these buildings, it’s at the Sears Tower on the 25th floor. There’s been a lot of fraudulent material going around… guess ppl are at the point of making info up. Time to batten down the hatches folks…
